I fell in love with Silo a long time ago.
The shows made me lean forward, hold my breath, laugh too loud, impress friends who’d never seen theatre, and dream of working here. Being in the audience at Silo felt cool, like you belonged to something special. My feelings for Silo have never changed. It’s my favourite stage. My favourite plays of all time happened at Silo. That’s why I’m here.
Silo is at its best when story and performance meet — when a moment takes your breath, when something cracks you open, when you’re still laughing hours later and telling everyone about it.
This season is about the spaces in between: the look actors give each other that says everything; the moment just before a character makes a decision and shifts their whole world; the way that light hits that set, with that sound that makes you cry. And most of all, the space between actor and audience — when a performance meets the people in the room and magic happens. That’s the chemistry I’m chasing: the alchemy between people, story, and performance. You can’t plan it, but you can create the conditions for it — and when it happens, it’s unforgettable. In 2026 we have five plays, five worlds, each offering something different: a romance that bends time and language; a comedy that leaves your face hurting from laughter; a psychological thriller that you get to solve; a big family drama full of betrayal and desire; and a coming-of-age story of friendship that is both fierce and tender. They’re all really different. Different in genre and voice, but united in their boldness — the kind of works that make Silo, Silo.
I’m so thrilled to be celebrating some of my favourite artists in this season, both the ones I’ve looked up to for years and the new voices and talent making their Silo debut. And especially the creative pairs who bring their shared history to the work we’re making.
Directors, actors, designers, writers — they’re the ones who make the magic possible, and I’m so grateful to them for joining me as I’ve stepped into this dream job.
And to the audience — you matter most. You are the missing piece that turns story into theatre, strangers into community, a room into something electric. Thank you for showing up. This is my first season at Silo, and it’s for you.
