Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of gatherings can I hold at Silo Hall? We can host both public and private events at Silo Hall. This may include workshops, playreadings and community events, with a focus on performing arts activities. Public events in the evening with over 30 attendance will require security at the hirer's own cost.

What spaces are available for hire? We have a hall space (Silo Hall) and a writer's room for hire with a shared kitchen. Note that during office hours, these spaces may be shared with staff and other activity in the building. Please note there is strictly no access to the mezzanine space.

What does the hire include? Silo Hall is a dry venue hire (no equipment provided) - and you will have to let us know what equipment you will be bringing into the space. This includes bringing your own furniture and technical equipment including chairs, lights, microphones etc. We do have a few items that can be included with your hire with advance notice.

What power does Silo Hall have? Silo hall does not have 3 phase power. Bring your own PAT-tested electrical equipment on your hire.

Can I use haze or a smoke machine in the building? No.

What will I need to provide during my hire? There are some minumim requirements from Silo for your hire including a flat rate cleaning fee and additional rubbish disposal. You will also be required to provide a health and safety plan, attend an induction briefing and agree to follow all the health and safety requirements for the hire.

What does it cost to hire the space? We will discuss hire costs with you once you've submitted your EOI. Rates range due to levels of funding you might have on your project or the type of event.
