Tales of Chaos, Challenge and Controversy: A Silo Birthday Fundraiser

In 2022, Silo Theatre marks a quarter century of trailblazing theatre. Since our earliest days in what is now Basement Theatre at the bottom of Myer’s Park, Silo has brought leading design, exceptional performance, and the very best contemporary storytelling to Tāmaki Makaurau, and beyond.

Artists have always been the heart, soul and guts of this company, so to mark this milestone, some of Silo’s most beloved artists are sharing stories about their time with the company — their tales of chaos, challenge, and controversy.

Silo is a collective force, and it is the devotion and artistry of our people that creates the foundation for unforgettable theatre experiences. Alongside them we craft exceptional live performance events that transform and uplift both artists and audiences in shared experiences, encouraging a greater sense of connection to each other, and to our collective cultural identity.

To ensure this vital work continues for the next 25 years, we’re asking you to contribute to our birthday fundraiser. As a small arts organisation in Aotearoa, we have always aimed to punch above our weight, driving our artists to stretch their creativity and talent, to be smart about how we use our resources, to do more, with less. Now, as our rebuild from the pandemic begins, this theme is more present than ever.

With your support, we aim to raise $25,000 over 2022 to drive our recovery in 2023, and support two new major commissions for the company.

Every dollar donated goes towards telling stories that matter, empowering our artists to deepen their craft, and presenting provocative, illuminating theatre that is a powerful engine for change. Donations over $5 will receive a receipt and are tax deductible.

In these turbulent times, as we are driven ever further from one another, theatre has never been more important as a place for connection, collaboration, and understanding. Your donation ensures that Silo will continue to hold that space for our community for another 25 years to come.

Scroll down to donate now and help us blaze a new trail for the artists of the next quarter century.
