Kia ora koutou,
It is with a heavy heart that we are getting in touch to let you know that LIVE LIVE CINEMA: NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD will not be proceeding this March as a part of Te Ahurei Toi o Tāmaki / Auckland Arts Festival. This difficult decision was made with the safety of our artists and audiences in mind and taking into account the significant challenges of presenting theatre in the RED traffic light setting.
Safe to say we're absolutely gutted and we want to acknowledge the remarkable team behind NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, some of whom have been working on this show for three years amid multiple disruptions. We remain committed to bringing you this exhilarating production in the future, it's a cracker of a show and we can't wait to realise it onstage when it is safe to do so.
For the performing arts and live events sectors this is a critical and precarious period. We know that artists across the motu will be affected by the current situation in ways they haven't experienced before as we enter the third year of serious impacts on artists, practitioners and our wider industry. We want to acknowledge all those in our arts community going through it right now and we look forward to sharing work together one day soon.
